Jeannie Mai was born in 1979 in San Jose, California, to her parents, Olivia and James. Her maternal heritage is Vietnamese, while her paternal lineage is of Chinese-Vietnamese origin.
During her teenage years, Mai attended Milpitas High School. At the age of 18, she initiated her professional journey as a makeup artist at MAC Cosmetics.
Subsequently, she embarked on a globetrotting career, offering her makeup expertise to notable figures such as Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera.
Owing to her rising prominence, Mai secured a role as a celebrity makeup stylist for MTV’s “Total Request Live” and also for Los Angeles’ KCAL station.
